2025 marks the tenth season of the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. We are committed to challenging the status quo and invite you to join us.
As the first American Formula 1 team since 1986, we made a notable debut in 2016 and have since demonstrated growth, culminating in our second-best season to date.
We are a racing team with three headquarters—Kannapolis (US), Banbury (UK), and Maranello (Italy)—driven by passionate team members. Known as the ‘family team,’ we offer visibility across various areas and encourage contributions from all members.
This role reports to the Deputy Chief Designer & Structure and is based in Maranello, Italy. The primary responsibility is the structural design and analysis of F1 chassis components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote teamwork and effective communication across departments.
- Conduct structural analysis and optimization of car components to ensure minimal weight, safety, reliability, and desired stiffness.
- Utilize methods such as hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis, structural optimization, scripting, and programming for analysis and correlation with experimental data.
- Focus on analysis of composite components like chassis, gearbox, wings, bodywork, and suspensions.
- Adhere to safety regulations and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or equivalent Engineering; master's preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 in professional motorsports.
Skills:
- Strong communication and technical skills, with proficiency in FE methods.
- Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions, and collaborate effectively.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues.
Tools and Applications:
Catia V5, HyperWorks/Optistruct, Abaqus CAE, Matlab, Python, VBA.
Work Environment:
Must work efficiently in high-pressure settings, with potential travel and flexible hours, including weekends. The role involves manual tasks and working with machinery, race cars, and hazardous materials.
