Overview
Senior Solution Consultant, Commercial Lines expert at Guidewire Software. You will provide technical and functional support to prospective clients, understand their requirements (industry, business, IT), drive value from Guidewire solutions, build credibility and ensure customer satisfaction. You will mentor less experienced Solution Consultants and develop high-quality presentations and demonstrations, articulating advanced product features and their value to customers.
You must be able to understand business process needs, conceptualize how needs can be satisfied with our software, and discuss financial terms to present a high-level business case in collaboration with a Value Consultant.
A Senior Solution Consultant works closely with prospects and customers, combining business process, listening, technical design, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Support the sales team as the expert on business process aspects of Guidewire solutions throughout the sales cycle
- Mentor other Solution Consultants by creating and executing a training plan and following through to completion
- Initiate knowledge sharing through show-and-tell sessions and training segments
- Lead key projects outside of active sales opportunities
- Lead user test drive/workshop sessions, crafting strategy (goals, objectives, execution)
- Lead the creation of customer/prospect messaging tailored to their requirements
Collegiality and Collaboration
- Identify new customer requirements and work with Product Management and Principal Solution Consultants to design solutions
- Provide input and support to the Solution Engineering team
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, networking, and information sharing about deals, competitive knowledge, and demo tips
Product Knowledge and Demonstrations
- Develop deep expertise across multiple Guidewire products and capabilities, with the ability to present end-to-end demonstrations across Analytics, Data, Core, and Digital stories
- Complete product RFPs and demonstrate industry expertise
- Be self-sufficient in supporting own demonstration environments
- Demonstrate business-level, UI-level, and rule-level configurations in Guidewire Customer Platform (GWCP)
- Translate business requirements into configurations using creativity and collaboration
- Foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance productivity
Industry Knowledge — Commercial Lines
- Understand major lines of business insurers write, their risks, and how they are administered in a core system
- Develop deeper expertise in areas such as Distribution & Sales, Underwriting & Rating, Policy Administration, Claims, Billing, and Accounting
- Fluency in insurer economics and experience with regulatory contexts (Solvency II, IFRS 17, IDD, sanctions compliance) and local regulators
Presentation Skills
- Present complex, customized demonstrations tailored to customer requirements; partner with a Technical Solution Consulting teammate as needed
- Deliver full-day scripted demos and multi-day demonstrations
- Provide compelling demonstrations with strategic messaging and continuous content improvement
- Exhibit strong written and oral communication in English and native language
- Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and apply AI and data-driven insights to drive innovation
Travel: The role is expected to travel to opportunities, typically 50-60% of the time, with some week-to-week variance.
