Senior Software Engineer (Rust) | Global Fintech | Remote

We’re working with a global fintech scaling rapidly and operating at massive scale. The company is entering a strategic evolution of its core technology stack and is making a long-term investment in Rust to improve performance, security, and operational efficiency across mission-critical systems.
The Opportunity
Rather than joining a single team or project, you’ll:
- Define the standards, architecture, and best practices for Rust development
- Lead the design and build of high-performance, distributed systems
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner with senior engineering and product leaders to define the Rust roadmap
- Architect and build foundational Rust services used across the platform
- Establish development patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering standards
- Solve complex system-level and architectural challenges
- Embed strong observability and monitoring using OpenTelemetry
- Act as the go-to Rust expert and technical leader within the business
What They’re Looking For
- 8+ years’ experience building distributed, high-throughput systems
- Proven, hands-on experience building production systems in Rust
- Deep knowledge of systems design, memory management, and concurrency
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures
- Experience establishing or improving CI/CD practices
Nice to have: experience with Go or Java in large-scale, cloud-native environments.
