At ALTO Robotics we are building intelligent mobile robotic systems designed for real-world industrial environments.

We are entering a critical phase where product delivery and field deployment are the priority. For this reason, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to work on real systems, not just prototypes.

What you will work on

• Development of embedded and high-level software for robotic systems

• Integration across firmware, control logic and application layers

• Support to system validation, testing and field deployment

• Collaboration with hardware, electronics and operations teams

• Coordination with external engineering partners when needed

What we are looking for

• Strong experience in C/C++ and Python

• Experience with embedded systems and real-time constraints

• Background in automation, robotics or complex mechatronic systems

• Ability to work across layers (from low-level to application logic)

• Hands-on mindset and problem-solving attitude

• Ability to manage external partners and contribute to make-or-buy decisions

Nice to have

• Experience with ROS2

• Exposure to middleware architectures

• Basic knowledge of web technologies (for interfaces / tools)

Why join ALTO

• You will work on real robots deployed in the field

• You will have direct impact on product delivery and performance

• You will be part of a small, highly focused team

Location: Italy (on-site / hybrid)

This role is best suited for engineers who enjoy working on real products and field deployment. It is not a fit for those looking for purely research-focused or fully remote positions. xdwybme
