Context & Impact
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Recognition & DataCore Team in Rome, Italy.
This role sits within a high‑performing engineering group tackling some of the most complex challenges in cloud‑scale data infrastructure — designing and maintaining the cloud‑native data pipeline engine that powers the Lansweeper platform. You won’t just be maintaining systems; you will be shaping how AI and intelligent automation transform the way we process, enrich, and reconcile massive datasets at scale.
Your work will directly impact how Lansweeper ingests, processes, and delivers actionable technology asset intelligence across customer environments worldwide. Engineers here operate at the intersection of distributed systems and AI‑augmented engineering — where the quality of your judgment matters as much as the quality of your code.
In the short term, you will drive the evolution of our distributed data pipeline. Long term, you will contribute to architecture decisions, next‑generation data processing capabilities, and the scalability of a platform trusted by thousands of enterprises globally.
Challenge
Enhancing and maintaining a high‑performance data pipeline for Lansweeper Discovery and the broader Lansweeper Platform Solving complex ETL, enrichment, and data reconciliation problems at scale with AI tooling as a force multiplier, not a shortcut Operating effectively within a large‑scale distributed architecture where performance, reliability, and engineering excellence are non‑negotiable Setting the standard for how AI‑generated output is evaluated, refined, and brought to production quality
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud‑native data processing services in Java and Go Lead in an AI‑augmented engineering environment: decompose complex problems, direct and prompt AI tools effectively, critically evaluate AI‑generated code, and hold the bar on production‑grade quality Own technical decisions, ensuring that AI‑generated code aligns with architectural direction and long‑term system health Contribute to architecture design, system evolution, and cross‑team technical strategies Implement and optimize ETL workflows and data enrichment pipelines Build RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and backend integrations Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to ship stable, well‑tested, maintainable code Ensure test automation, code quality, and CI/CD best practices across the data platforms
Hard Skills
6+ years of software engineering experience, ideally as a Senior Software Engineer in cloud‑based or data‑driven systems Practical experience using AI tools for coding, refactoring, testing, and documentation Hands‑on experience with any of the following: Java and Go (Preferred) and/or Python, Spark, Spring, TypeScript Strong knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform) Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, ArgoCD), Git, Kafka, Hadoop, and Cassandra Proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse) Experience with testing frameworks (Mockito, Testcontainers, Localstack) and observability tools (Grafana, OpenSearch)
Soft Skills
Excellent teamwork and communication skills Strong problem‑solving ability in complex, distributed systems Ownership mindset and comfort operating in an agile and collaborative environment
Our Offer
Competitive salary aligned with market benchmarks in Italy Benefits package including health insurance and meal vouchers Hybrid working model – based in Rome with flexibility to work from home Professional growth and learning programs
About Lansweeper Lansweeper is the AI Cyber Asset Intelligence platform helping IT and Security teams gain full visibility, reduce cyber risk, and scale automation with confidence. In today’s complex IT, OT, cloud, and IoT environments, fragmented asset data slows decisions and increases risk. We transform raw asset data into a continuously validated, trusted source of truth — so teams can move faster and act with certainty. With Lansweeper, organizations can
See – Truly complete visibility across hybrid environments Know – Enriched asset intelligence with lifecycle and risk context Act – Automate workflows, coordinate remediation, and enforce policy at scale
From universal asset discovery to AI‑powered intelligence, we provide the shared foundation modern IT Operations, Cybersecurity, and Digital Transformation teams rely on. Our Culture
One Team – United across boundaries We Care – Customers and people at the center We Grow – Learning, sharing, improving We Deliver – Focusing on what truly matters
Team Info You’ll join the Recognition & DataCore Team, an 8 person engineering unit based in Rome, collaborating closely with Java Reactive Programming experts and reporting to our Senior Manager of Engineering. #J-18808-Ljbffr
