Role Purpose

Build and maintain a scalable, secure, and well-governed Google Cloud Platform (GCP) foundation to support multiple engineering teams, ensuring strong cloud governance, automation, and operational readiness, while enabling key GCP services such as BigQuery, Vertex AI, and GKE.

Here is a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

• Maintain and improve the overall structure of the GCP environment (projects, folders, access model).
• Define and support governance and compliance standards through policies and automation.
• Manage access and permissions in GCP (IAM), ensuring secure and controlled user access.
• Support identity and authentication integration (SSO) and access processes.
• Implement cloud security best practices (secrets management, encryption, auditing).
• Support cloud networking configuration and connectivity (VPCs, firewall rules, routing).
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code automation (Terraform preferred).
• Establish monitoring, logging, and operational processes to prepare GCP for production usage.
• Enable cloud adoption and best practices across engineering teams.
• Support the Kubernetes platform on GCP (GKE) as a secondary responsibility.
• Support the adoption and governance of key GCP data and AI services such as BigQuery and Vertex AI, ensuring secure access models and scalable usage.

The Type Of Person We Are Looking For

• Strong experience working with Google Cloud Platform in a cloud infrastructure, platform, or operations role.
• Proven experience managing cloud environments with multiple projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of IAM, access governance, and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools (Terraform preferred).
• Good understanding of cloud networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging practices and operational readiness.
• Exposure to Kubernetes/GKE is a plus.
• Interest or experience supporting data and AI platforms such as BigQuery and Vertex AI is a strong advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
