Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer to lead and contribute to the security of our software solutions. You will be instrumental in managing the quality and performance of our security measures, and applying robust software engineering concepts and processes to develop and maintain secure software solutions.
Job Responsibilities

• Security code audit and security review of the software application stack
• Design, develop, and implement security solutions that protect SUSE’s software products and infrastructure from threats.
• Conduct thorough quality and performance testing of security features and systems to identify vulnerabilities and ensure optimal functionality.
• Apply advanced software engineering concepts and principles to create scalable, maintainable, and secure software.
• Establish and enforce robust software engineering processes within the security team, including secure coding guidelines, code reviews, and vulnerability management.
• Evaluate and implement various software engineering tools to enhance security development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Stay abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and proactively incorporate them into our security strategies.
  

Job Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing and leading application security projects
• Strong expertise in quality assurance and performance testing methodologies, particularly as applied to security systems.
• Deep understanding and practical application of core software engineering concepts and principles.
• Extensive experience with various software engineering processes, including agile development and secure SDLC.
• Proficiency in utilizing and evaluating a wide range of software engineering tools relevant to security development and operations.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain secure software solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  

This position is subject to a background check(s), including criminal, credit, and/or employment references. The candidate is required to complete the background check(s) once an offer has been accepted. This will be conducted by SUSE’s external provider, where legally permitted.
