A leading international freight forwarding company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - Project Logistics to drive growth across Italy. This is a senior commercial role focused on winning and developing project logistics and oversized cargo business within key industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively develop new business opportunities in project logistics, heavy lift and oversized cargo
- Manage and grow an existing portfolio of industrial and project logistics customers
- Identify, pursue and convert EPCs, industrial manufacturers, energy, infrastructure and construction projects
- Work closely with operations and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end project logistics solutions
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, tenders and feasibility studies
- Represent the company at client meetings, site visits and industry events
- Achieve agreed sales targets and contribute to long-term strategic growth
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Business Development / Sales Manager within project logistics or freight forwarding
- Demonstrable track record and portfolio of oversized cargo and industrial project customers
- Strong understanding of heavy lift, breakbulk, OOG cargo, chartering and multimodal transport
- Established network within the Italian project logistics or industrial market
- Commercially driven, self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously
- Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship-management skills
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in project logistics or industrial freight forwarding
- Experience selling complex, tailored logistics solutions
- Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written)
- Based anywhere in Italy, with willingness to travel domestically and internationally
