Senior R&D Formulator – automatic pencils

THE ROLE

• Researching raw materials used in cosmetics, such as botanicals, preservatives, fragrance ingredients, emulsifiers, surfactants, and emollients
• Developing new products using existing formulas as templates for new items
• Conducting testing on new formulas to ensure safety and efficacy
• Applying knowledge of chemistry and biology to create safe and effective formulas for consumers
• Meeting with clients to discuss their needs and preferences regarding product type and brand identity
• Combining ingredients according to formulas and creating color blends to achieve desired effects
• Performing product testing for compatibility with production machinery and shelf-life stability
• Managing and evaluating the feasibility of new projects
• Preparing prototypes and monitoring their stability
• Coordinating deliveries with the commercial and marketing departments
• Drafting bills of materials (BOMs)
• Scaling up and industrializing new products in collaboration with the production department

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 3 years of experience in the formulation of mechanical/automatic pencils
• A degree in Chemistry / Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies / Pharmacy / Biology is a plus, but not mandatory
• Fluent/Excellent knowledge of English
• Good knowledge of / Ability to quickly learn the materials and procedures used
• Strong organizational and self-management skills
• High attention to detail and precision
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Strong communication skills with both internal (Marketing) and external clients
• Ability to understand and interpret client requirements
• Drafting reporting documentation to support created formulas (stability, compatibility, technical data sheets, etc.)

LOCATION: Crema/ Monza Brianza

SALARY: RAL starting from €50.000
