Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, our Senior Payroll Coordinator will autonomously run end-to-end payroll cycles, verify payroll data, assist in balancing and reconciliation of payroll-related general ledger accounts, and manage the garnishment process working with our payroll provider.
Responsibilities
- Input data into the payroll system as needed. Verify the accuracy of manual data entry through balancing and comparison for differences.
- Run payroll cycles according to the schedule. Resolve out-of-balance conditions through research.
- Assist the Payroll Manager in reconciliation of the Payroll Register with Oracle HCM.
- Participate in testing functionality during upgrades. Assist in year-end and year-begin processes.
- Perform testing setup and maintenance on earning codes, deduction codes, and imports.
- Load payroll disbursements to the bank and coordinate funding with Accounting.
- Process garnishments with the payroll provider. Communicate with employees regarding payroll-related matters as needed.
- Perform tax registrations as required.
- Handle project assignments such as onboarding acquisitions, system integration, continuous service, and process improvements.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Around 5 years of directly related experience in payroll administration or HR operations, with exposure to payroll systems and processes.
- At least B2 / C1 level of English language proficiency.
- Working knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with Payroll / HRIS systems, including report writing.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
