PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Packaging Engineer is responsible for the creation, management, and validation of the complete vehicle Digital Mock-Up (DMU). The role ensures correct integration of vehicle components and systems through CAD/PLM tools, performing interference, assembly, and configuration checks in compliance with OEM standards. The position supports design, engineering, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

The Packaging Engineer manages the history of anomalies identified during the validation process through the use of the DIM system.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the complete vehicle DMU and subsystem models within CAD/PLM environments.

Perform DMU analyses including clash detection, clearance checks, and assembly/mountability verification.

Ensure geometric consistency and integration across vehicle systems and modules.

Prepare, review, and present DMU status reports, highlighting risks, issues, and mitigation actions.

Track, update, and manage issues and anomalies within the DIM system.

Conduct issue reviews and follow-up actions using DIM-generated reports.

Support technical reviews such as Design Reviews and Engineering Reviews.

Manage product configuration, part versions, and product structure within the PLM system.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Systems Engineering, Packaging, Manufacturing, and Industrialization teams.

Contribute to technical solutions aimed at improving vehicle integration, quality, and manufacturability.


REQUIREMENTS

Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA V5, VISMOCKUP).

Solid experience with PLM (Teamcenter).

Proven capability in DMU activities, including:

- Clash & clearance analysis

- Assembly and serviceability checks

- Kinematic analysis (where applicable)

Understanding of vehicle product structure, configuration management, and BOM logic.

Knowledge of Issues Management tools (DIM system, i.e.)


Technical diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automotive disciplines, or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
