Role Overview

We are looking for a strategic and inspiring leader to join Syneos Health as Senior National Sales Manager (SNSM) for Italy. In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for national sales performance and execution excellence, working closely with the client as part of their local leadership team. You will drive the growth of an innovative first-in-class product with a novel mechanism of action, ensuring successful commercial uptake in the field.

The SNSM will work closely with the internal operations team and the client stakeholders to support the design and lead the execution of a new product sales strategy (Field targeting, regional & territory plans, call effectiveness and performance monitoring). The SNSM ensures all of these missions in accordance with the ethics, the ethical and professional rules in force, the Public Health Code, the Charter for Promotional Information and its current reference document, the Quality Policy, internal procedures and the strategic choices of the client.

Role Overview

You will drive the growth of an innovative first-in-class product with a novel mechanism of action, ensuring successful commercial uptake in the field.

The SNSM will work closely with the internal operations team and the client stakeholders to support the design and lead the execution of a new product sales strategy (Field targeting, regional & territory plans, call effectiveness and performance monitoring). The SNSM ensures all of these missions in accordance with the ethics, the ethical and professional rules in force, the Public Health Code, the Charter for Promotional Information and its current reference document, the Quality Policy, internal procedures and the strategic choices of the client.

In this role, you will :

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and client stakeholders to implement and optimize the national sales strategy
  • Lead and coach a team of 16 Product Specialists and 2 Regional Business Managers, with a strategic focus on psychiatrists and neurologists in both hospital and office-based settings across the assigned region, promoting the product to targeted healthcare professionals (HCP’s) and identified accounts to achieve / exceed agreed business sales targets, using the right message, through the right channel
  • Monitor and drive performance across regions through KPIs, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and industry regulations
  • Contribute actively to field planning, HCP targeting, and operational execution to maximize product adoption.
  • Represent Syneos Health and the client in the EUCAN commercial ecosystem and take part in steering committees and leadership forums

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Fulfils legal requirements in country to work in pharmaceutical industry : the promotional information visit diploma or equivalent (example of equivalence : VAE certification, scientific diploma giving equivalence to the VM diploma)” Full clean driving license
  • Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in a sales, marketing and commercial operations capacity
  • Experience in sales and marketing roles with responsibility for prescription pharmaceutical business
  • Experience in line-management roles within biotech, pharma or medical device or diagnostics preferred : experience in service side role within biopharma consultancy or agency services
  • Desired Requirements

  • Previous first and second line sales management experience including product launch
  • Demonstrable evidence of a leader who strives for a new way of working and holistic customer journey approach
  • Ability to travel nationally frequently and internationally on occasion
