Senior Mechanical Designer

Our client, a leading player in the mobile machinery sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer / Project Leader to strengthen and support the growth of their Technical Department. Reporting directly to the Technical Director, the successful candidate will independently manage the development of complex projects from concept through to final validation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the definition of project specifications in collaboration with internal teams.
• Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies, developing innovative and alternative 3D design solutions.
• Coordinate project teams and work closely with Industrialization, Production, Quality, and R&D departments to ensure seamless product development and engineering execution.
• Ensure compliance with legal, technical, and industry standards in cooperation with Technical Management.
• Supervise review, verification, and validation processes for design projects.
• Analyze competitors’ products and participate in field testing to optimize performance.

Required Design Skills:

• Proven experience in designing welded metal structures for mobile machinery, including medium and heavy fabrication.
• Capability to design complex subassemblies, such as:
• Hydrostatic and mechanical transmissions
• Suspension systems and hydraulic circuits (medium/high pressure, open and closed loops)
• Operator modules
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate abstract concepts into coherent, realistic 3D models.
• Knowledge of component industrialization and continuous cost tracking throughout the design process.
• Ability to perform analytical and FEM calculations to optimize critical components for safety and performance.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience (experienced Technical Diploma holders will also be considered).
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally within agricultural, construction, earth-moving, lifting machinery, or industrial vehicle equipment sectors.
• Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD systems (Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or Inventor) and PDM/EDM tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical machining and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
• Competence in mobile hydraulics, power transmission, and basic electrical/electronic controls.
• Familiarity with product line configuration techniques.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).
