Senior Maintenance Technician

The Role

Based on-site in Zaandam, you'll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting highly automated conveyor and warehouse systems. The work is technical, varied, and never routine: one moment you're tracing an electrical fault, the next you're deep in PLC logic or analysing system data through Splunk and SCADA. You work independently, make confident decisions, and take real ownership of your area.

The role runs on a 5-shift rotation (6 days on, 4 days off) — a schedule that gives you extended time off between shifts and a clear, predictable rhythm to your working life.

Your responsibilities include:

• Performing corrective and preventive maintenance on highly automated conveyor and warehouse systems
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and software-related faults
• Working with control systems at HLC, LLC, and PLC level
• Using tools like Simatic Step 7, Movitools, Splunk, and SCADA for diagnostics and monitoring
• Troubleshooting network and bus systems including Profinet, Profibus, and CANbus
• Documenting interventions and reporting on system performance
• Proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities

This is you

• You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in corrective maintenance in a production or industrial environment
• You have strong electrical knowledge and solid mechanical skills — you're comfortable across both
• You have affinity with control systems (HLC, LLC, PLC, SEW drives, etc.)
• You're experienced with tools such as Simatic Step 7, Movitools, Splunk, and SCADA platforms
• You understand networking and fieldbus systems, including Profinet, Profibus, and CANbus
• You're a strong personality — precise, confident, and reliable under pressure
• You take initiative, keep learning, and adapt well to evolving technologies and situations
