Senior Investment portfolio manager - Private Debt and Alternative investments

Experteer Overview

In this role you will manage and monitor illiquid investments (private debt, infrastructure debt, alternatives) with a focus on ALM, solvency, and asset allocation. You will collaborate across Finance, Risk Management, Life, and Group functions to align local and group investment objectives and ensure regulatory compliance. The position sits within the Italian Investment Team in Milan and reports to senior leadership with a mandate to optimize portfolio performance and drive continuous improvement. This is a chance to shape capital strategies for the Italian balance sheet within a global insurer.

• Lead management and monitoring of illiquid portfolios (Private Debt, Infrastructure Debt)
• Analyze cash flows, funding structures, capital calls and distributions
• Prepare and present investment reports and performance metrics to senior leadership
• Critically review evaluation metrics of underlying assets in invested funds
• Apply ALM analyses and Solvency II capital charge assessments
• Coordinate with Finance, Risk Management, Life, and Group functions; participate in Asset Liability Investment Committee meetings
• Demonstrate integrity, results focus, and proactive improvement within the investment function

Responsabilità

• MSc in Economics, Finance or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in managing illiquid assets (private debt, infrastructure debt, or private markets)
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information
• Strong relationships with asset managers and stakeholdersProactive in portfolio monitoring and improvement opportunities
• Stay updated on market trends, regulatory requirements affecting illiquid assets
• Strong analytical and strategic skills
• Problem solving attitude
• Preferred: CFA, CAIA, programming language like Python
• Native Italian speaker and English proficiency (C1/C2)
