Overview
Our client, a Milan-based alternative investment manager with ~€2 billion in assets and strong roots in renewable energy and infrastructure, is expanding into the digital infrastructure domain. This platform will deploy a €500 million fund targeting data centres, fibre networks, edge / space infrastructure across Western Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full investment cycle for digital infrastructure deals, from sourcing to exit.
- Translate infrastructure / energy investment discipline into tech infrastructure sector.
- Build relationships with sector operators, tech developers, telecom firms, city authorities.
- Assist in setting the investment thesis, strategy, and operational roadmap for this new vertical.
- Work in synergy with infrastructure / energy teams to find cross-value opportunities (e.g. data centre + renewable co-location).
Candidate Profile
- 8–10 years in infrastructure PE, project equity, principal investing, or strategy consulting. Experience in digital infra, telecom / fibre / data centres / tower infrastructure is strongly preferred, but exceptional candidates with adjacent infrastructure / utility / energy tech background will be considered.
- Solid track record in structuring, deal execution, financial modelling risk & regulatory understanding.
- Experience in Western Europe, ideally across multiple markets (e.g. Italy, Germany, France, Nordics).
- Demonstrable ability to launch and scale new investment verticals within a platform.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and team-building skills.
- Competitive base in line with Italian / European senior infrastructure PE benchmarks
