Senior Hydrogeologist

Experteer Overview

As a Senior Hydrogeologist at AECOM, you will contribute to groundwater assessments, remediation strategy and design, and monitoring at large industrial sites. You join a multidisciplinary team of hydrogeologists and environmental engineers to solve complex environmental challenges and support development projects. You will build and interpret hydrogeological models, manage investigations, and mentor junior staff while engaging clients and regulators. This role offers impact at scale through meaningful environmental remediation and development work in Italy.

• Apply site investigation, remediation and regulatory knowledge to complex environmental problems
• Design and supervise hydrogeological investigations (well installations, groundwater surveys, sampling, aquifer testing)
• Develop hydrogeological conceptual and 3D geological models using digital tools and geostatistical software
• Create numerical groundwater models (MODFLOW, FEFLOW) and interpret results
• Collaborate with environmental scientists and risk assessors in remediation plans
• Prepare proposals/workplans, manage budgets, schedules, health and safety, and staffing
• Provide hydrogeological input to environmental assessments for developments
• Mentor junior staff and support capability development
• Travel as required to meet project needs
• Liaise with clients and regulators

Responsabilità

• +5 years related experience
• Fluency in Italian and English
• Some fieldwork experience
• Motivation, initiative, and organizational skills for a busy multi-disciplinary environment
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to produce and maintain site activity records and reports
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to travel nationally for site visits
• Strong personal initiative, agility and resourcefulness
• Licensed to drive in Italy (essential)
