Job Description Summary
Senior HR Business Partner provides HR leadership and strategic partnership to Avio Aero Engineering, Digital Technology and FLIGHT DECK Operations, supporting approximately 1,400 employees across 10 sites in Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic. The role drives an integrated people strategy and strategic workforce plan, translating business roadmaps into long‑term capability, organisation and talent plans. It leads core HR cycles, coaches leaders and manages complex organisational and employee matters to enable strong Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) performance.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering, Digital Technology and FLIGHT DECK Operations leaders to define and execute an integrated people strategy that enables business, technology and FLIGHT DECK roadmaps.
- Lead strategic workforce planning, identifying critical capabilities, risks and long‑term staffing and growth plans across countries and sites.
- Lead or co‑lead change initiatives, ensuring clear communication, engagement and risk management.
- Lead talent reviews and succession planning for critical roles.
- Identify high‑potential talent and define targeted development and retention actions.
- Coach leaders on people leadership, inclusion, performance and organisational effectiveness.
- Lead and continuously improve performance management processes.
- Manage complex employee relations matters with HR, Legal and Works Councils (where applicable).
- Foster a culture of safety, respect, inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Total Rewards on competitive and equitable reward decisions.
- Advise leaders on compensation, recognition and retention strategies.
- Own or co‑lead core HR calendar activities (salary planning, promotions, talent reviews, engagement surveys, workforce analytics).
- Ensure compliance with company policies and labour/regulatory requirements in Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic.
- Support deployment of FLIGHT DECK and lean principles into HR processes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve HR practices.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Significant HR experience in multinational or matrix organisations, including substantial time in an HR Business Partner or similar strategic role.
- Strong knowledge of talent management, organisation design, performance management, employee relations, compensation and learning and development.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leaders to shape and deliver people strategies that enable business outcomes.
- Experience supporting engineering, technology, manufacturing or operations; exposure to lean or continuous improvement cultures is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, able to interpret HR and business data and turn insights into practical actions.
- Experience in leading or supporting organisational change and transformation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration, Psychology, Economics, Law, related fields or equivalent experience in HR leadership roles.
- Strong verbal and written English; proficiency in Italian required.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to sites in Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Desired Characteristics
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD or local equivalent).
- Experience in aerospace, industrial or high‑technology sectors.
- Experience working across countries, cultures, legal frameworks and complex matrix organisations.
- Familiarity with lean methodologies and/or lean operating systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with works councils, unions or employee representative bodies in Europe.
