Senior Government Relations Consultant

Global Insights, a global leader in strategic market insights and policy consulting, is dedicated to empowering organizations with actionable intelligence in political and economic landscapes. We are seeking an experienced Senior Government Relations Advisor to join our team, leveraging deep networks within the European Union (EU) and Italian government institutions to deliver firsthand policy and economic intelligence, driving our strategic initiatives in the global policy arena.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage networks in EU institutions (e.g., European Commission’s DG INTPA, European External Action Service) and Italian government bodies (e.g., Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Confindustria) to obtain firsthand policy and economic intelligence.
• Monitor and analyze EU and Italian political and economic policies, including trade agreements, fiscal policies, and regional development strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key policymakers, government officials, and economic stakeholders in Italy and the EU.
• Provide strategic advice to internal teams and clients on navigating regulatory and economic landscapes to achieve business objectives.
• Advocate for Global Insights’ interests in policy discussions, government consultations, and international forums.
• Produce high-level reports on political and economic trends, risks, and opportunities impacting global markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Policy, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Law, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or policy advocacy, with a focus on political and economic issues.
• Established networks within EU institutions (e.g., European Commission, European Parliament) and Italian government bodies (e.g., Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation), with a proven ability to access firsthand policy and economic intelligence.
• Strong understanding of EU political frameworks and Italian economic policies, including trade, investment, and regulatory environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian; additional EU languages (e.g., German, French) are a plus.
• Proficiency in policy analysis, stakeholder mapping, and strategic communication.

Preferred

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Policy, International Relations, or Economics.
• Experience working with or within EU institutions, Italian government agencies, or international organizations (e.g., OECD, BusinessEurope).
• Familiarity with cross-border economic policies or trade negotiations.
• Track record of building strategic partnerships in political and economic spheres across the EU and Italy.
