The Company

Leading international Corporate Bank with a long-standing presence in Italy.

The Financial Engineering department, established at the Group’s European headquarters, represents a highly specialized platform focused on structured finance solutions for mid-cap companies, built on a model of strong commercial integration and close client proximity.

The function is coordinated at an international level and already operates across several European hubs. Italy represents a new strategic expansion market: this is a newly created role for the Italian platform, with potential team growth in the coming years.

Role

The professional responsible for Italy will lead the acquisition, origination, and execution of complex, tailor‑made financing solutions for corporate clients in the Italian market.

The role combines commercial business development responsibilities with transaction structuring, working closely with Relationship Managers and product teams.

This is a strategic position aimed at replicating in Italy a model already successfully established at European level, with a focus on mid‑cap and upper mid‑cap clients (typically from €50M revenue, preferably €500M+).

The role reports functionally to the Head of Financial Engineering based in one of the European hubs, with local coordination alongside Italian branch management.

Key Responsibilities

• Origination and development of new business opportunities
• Structuring and negotiation of structured lending and Capital Markets transactions (asset‑based lending, syndicated financing, leveraged/acquisition finance)
• End‑to‑end management of transaction execution in coordination with internal teams (Lending, Capital Markets, Risk)
• Direct interaction with clients and prospects within a team‑based model alongside Relationship Managers
• Responsibility for revenues, profitability, and risk management of executed transactions
• Development and management of the assigned portfolio
• Contribution to the implementation of the Group’s strategic objectives in the Italian market

Requirements

• Degree in Economics, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Structured Finance or Corporate Banking (Front Office, Risk, or Credit)
• More senior profiles (10+ years) with solid experience in complex transactions will also be considered

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of corporate credit products, corporate finance, and capital markets
• Experience in complex financing structures, including structured working capital solutions (e.g., receivables finance, supply chain finance)
• Advanced financial statement analysis and cash flow analysis capabilities, with proven structuring expertise
• Strong credit analysis skills
• In‑depth knowledge of the Italian banking market and an active network of prospects and lenders
• Familiarity with legal, tax, and national/international accounting frameworks
