Overview
The Senior Finance Manager oversees the organization\'s financial health and performance, leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. The Senior Finance Manager will ensure compliance with financial regulations, develop internal controls and drive process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy. The role reports to the Managing Director – Italy and is responsible for the European Administration & Accounting department.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Managing Director to support strategic decisions.
- Financial Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the relevant standards and internal procedures.
- Present financial performance reports and variance analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Accounting & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
- Work closely with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Business Partnering
- Collaborate with business units to evaluate financial performance, investment opportunities, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Support cross-functional teams with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Strategic Initiatives
- Drive process automation and digital transformation within the finance department.
- Participate in strategic projects such as M&A analysis, capital allocation, and risk management.
Qualifications
- University degree (university of applied sciences, university) or comparable in Business, Management, or Finance
- Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
- Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the industry sector
- Experience should include legal, audit, compliance, budget
- Strategic financial planning and analytical mindset
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems
- Proven effectiveness leading professionals in finance and accounting
- Flexible and a self-starter; able to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented
- Languages: English: very good (verbal and written)
- Advanced computer skills in particular MS Office, ERP and Data Management Systems (DMS)
- Ability to prepare reports and use of appropriate mode of communication. Must be proficient at analyzing data, creating reports and making strategic recommendations based on data and trends
