Senior Estimating Consultant

RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Estimating Consultant to join its office in Genova or Napoli, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.

Mission

The Senior Estimating Consultant is responsible for drafting survey and subdivision plats and technical specifications under the supervision of the Director of Survey, with possible matrix reporting to the Project Manager. The Project Surveyor oversees the technical work of staff surveyors and is involved in QA / QC and cost estimation processes. The role involves obtaining survey measurements, traveling to project sites for geodetic control, topographic, utility, and boundary surveys, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Collaboration with project team members, clients, contractors, and review agencies is essential.

Key Accountabilities

• Conduct accurate cost estimates considering materials, labor, and overhead.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring adherence and reporting variances.
• Perform physical site surveys and investigations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Calculate and verify survey measurements and prepare survey documentation.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assess on-site work for billing.
• Assist in tender and contract preparations, review contractual terms.
• Generate reports on project costs, analyze financial data, and prepare engineering documents.
• Identify and mitigate cost-related risks, ensuring safety, quality, and standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of surveying experience.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and survey equipment.
• Knowledge of CAD and land development software.
• In the US, completion of the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam or EIT certification is preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Civil Engineering, or related fields such as Engineering, General, or Mathematics.
