Position: Senior Engineer - Billing & QS
Location: Kolkata
Department: Projects / Billing
Experience: 10–15 Years
Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering
Responsibilities
- Costing & Estimation
- BOQ Preparation: Detailed preparation and verification of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on tender drawings and specifications.
- Rate Analysis: Conducting in-depth rate analysis for various items (labor, material, machinery) as per CPWD norms or current market rates.
- Value Engineering: Identifying cost-saving opportunities by suggesting alternative materials or methods without compromising quality or safety.
- Budgeting & Cost Control
- Project Budgeting: Preparing preliminary and detailed project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Cost Monitoring: Tracking actual expenditure against the baseline budget to identify and mitigate cost overruns.
- Reconciliation: Performing periodic material reconciliation (theoretical vs. actual consumption) for cement, steel, and other high-value materials.
- Billing & Invoicing
- Billing: Preparing, checking and submitting Running Account (RA) bills and final bills.
- Vendor/Contractor Bills: Verifying and certifying bills submitted by subcontractors and vendors through on-site measurement verification.
- Claim Management: Handling variation claims, extra items, and price escalation clauses as per contract terms.
- Prepare project cost estimates and budgets.
- Handle contractor billing and client billing processes.
- Track project cost vs budget and report variances.
- Coordinate with procurement and finance teams.
- Ensure accurate measurement and documentation of project work.
