Senior Embedded Software Engineer (f/m/div)
In this Staff Embedded Software Engineer role, you will lead embedded software efforts within structured R&D projects and prototyping ecosystems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality, time-to-market, and technology trends that shape robotics and prototyping platforms. You will design and develop embedded software for robotics and prototyping ecosystems, while shaping strategy around emerging tech. You will mentor junior engineers and represent Infineon at events, contributing to a culture of innovation and collaboration. Lead embedded software development in R&D projects and prototyping ecosystems Contribute to innovation projects and establish software ecosystems for prototyping Collaborate with partner teams and align with internal/external stakeholders Design and develop embedded software for robotics and prototyping environments Proactively shape technology-trend strategies in embedded software Capture requirements and translate into structured work packages Represent Infineon at events and facilitate stakeholder alignment Mentor and coach junior embedded software engineers to build leadership skills Conscientious, collaborative, fast learner with strong communication Degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or comparable (PhD a plus) ≥5 years in embedded software design; semiconductor/robotics experience preferred Proficiency in C, C++, Python Experience with ROS 2 and micro-ROS; simulation tools (Isaac Sim, MuJoCo) Experience with embedded development flow and tools (Git, build systems, GitLab); RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS) Strong knowledge of MCU architecture and peripherals (Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI); ARM Cortex/TriCore/RISC-V a plus Knowledge of kinematics, sensor fusion, and control in robotics a plus
