About the client

Our client is a confidential major energy producer, active across power generation from renewable sources (wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric) and conventional combined-cycle plants, as well as connection to the national distribution and transmission networks. An established in-house engineering organisation covers electrical, automation and control disciplines, supporting projects from concept and design through to procurement, construction and commissioning. The electrical engineering function operates from the client's offices near Milan and works in close coordination with project management, procurement and site teams.



Project scope

The assignment supports the detailed electrical design of high voltage substations and their associated protection, command and control systems. The scope spans generation plants from renewable sources (wind, photovoltaic, hydroelectric) and conventional combined-cycle facilities, together with their connection to medium and high voltage distribution and transmission networks. Engineering is delivered to international technical standards across concept, design and order phases, in coordination with other disciplines, procurement and site

.The role is based onsite in Sesto San Giovanni for the duration of the assignment, with up to one day per week of remote work by agreement with the manager and depending on project needs

Role overview

To lead the discipline detailed electrical design for high voltage substations and associated systems, ensuring all calculations, schemes and project documents are verified, issued and controlled in line with project standards, schedule and cost objectives and applicable regulation Reporting line : You will report to the Head of Electrical, Automation and Control Engineering (Function Manager) and work closely with the project engineers of other disciplines, the Project Engineer Coordinator, the Project Manager and the site team.Key responsibilities


Detailed electrical desi

  • Lead the discipline detailed design, verifying all calculations, schemes and project documents required to define and size the systems, machinery and equipment of the plant
  • Verify and issue technical specifications, datasheets and discipline technical reports

Procurement and documentation

  • Issue procurement requests and related technical evaluations in line with the procurement plan, at both concept and design and order phas
  • Manage incoming and outgoing project documentation, ensuring verification, issue and control of discipline documents

Grid connection and standards

  • Support the connection of plants to medium and high voltage distribution and transmission networks
  • Apply local and international technical standards and grid connection procedures across the design

Coordination and control

  • Report design and execution progress to the Function Manager, who verifies compliance with project directi

Required

Education

Degree in Electrical or Electrotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Must-ha ve: At least 8 years in detailed electrical design of electrical systems for high voltage substations and their associated protection, command and control system
  • Must-ha ve: Proven electrical design experience on renewable generation plants (wind, photovoltaic, hydroelectric) and/or conventional combined-cycle plant
  • Must-ha ve: Knowledge of grid connection procedures for medium and high voltage distribution and transmission networks
