The Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially acute Senior Director to lead Business Due Diligence engagements, with a sharp focus on advising leading Private Equity funds. This role is designed for a professional who brings deep strategic analysis capability from a top-tier consulting firm, combined with the agility to operate in high-pressure, deal-driven environments.

You will support key investment decisions by providing rigorous market and business analysis, helping clients navigate key commercial risks and opportunities. With direct exposure to fund partners, portfolio executives, and deal teams, your insights will play a critical role in shaping buy-side and sell-side strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end Business Due Diligence and market review projects for top-tier Private Equity funds.
  • Evaluate investment targets by assessing business models, market positioning, competitive dynamics, and growth potential.
  • Translate complex data, industry trends, and internal metrics into compelling strategic narratives to inform investment theses.
  • Engage with C-level executives, management teams, and third-party experts to extract insights and stress-test assumptions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams across markets, sectors, and timelines, ensuring quality delivery in time-sensitive environments.
  • Actively contribute to client relationship development—deepening connections with PE clients and identifying repeat business opportunities.
  • Support wider deal lifecycle activities including value creation planning, pre-exit analysis and vendor Business Due Diligence.
  • Play a stewardship role in team development, mentoring more junior team members and contributing to internal practice growth.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in Business Due Diligence within a major Strategy Advisory Firm.
  • Proven track record of direct activity with top-tier Private Equity firms and senior investor stakeholders in highly competitive M&A contexts.
  • Strong grasp of business fundamentals, commercial strategy, and value drivers across a range of industries.
  • Exceptional analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver board-level recommendations under time pressure.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and the agility to work in fast-paced, dynamic deal cycles.
  • Strong leadership and team management capability; experience guiding project teams across multiple workstreams.
  • Degree from a top academic institution; MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is valued.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous depending on client base.

What do we offer?

  • The opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy and investment, partnering with the world’s leading Private Equity firms.
  • Exposure to high-impact, high-visibility transactions across geographies and sectors.
  • A high-performance, intellectually rigorous environment that values both independence and collaboration.
  • Pathway toward Partner-level leadership, with client ownership and practice-building responsibility.
  • Competitive remuneration, performance-based incentives, and a meritocratic culture focused on excellence, integrity, and growth.
