Senior Digital Performance Specialist

Pollen · Torino, Piemonte, Italia ·

Descrizione dell'offerta

Freelance · Fully remote · 8-month contract with scope to extend

Pollen builds high-impact identities and award-winning websites for ambitious brands that understand the value of quality. From our studios in London and Florence, we build client partnerships that transcend borders — combining sharp strategic thinking with world-class design, innovation and execution. With 25 years of experience and a small, senior team of industry-leading designers, skilled developers and results-driven strategists, we thrive at the intersection of design and technology.

We're looking for a Senior Digital Performance Specialist to take the lead on an eight-month engagement with one of our most established clients — a globally recognised luxury brand. You'll be accountable for moving the numbers: organic growth, engagement, conversion and UX quality. This is a fixed-fee, deliverable-based freelance contract running May to December 2026. If the engagement goes well, there's strong scope to continue working together on this and other accounts.

About the role

You'll act as the client's embedded digital performance lead, working end-to-end across:

  • Technical and on-page SEO strategy, including AI and generative search optimisation
  • Data-led UI/UX improvement cycles — hypothesis, implement, validate — using GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush and Crazy Egg
  • Content strategy and execution, including planning, briefing and updating website content via WordPress (editorial magazine production is out of scope)
  • Structured A/B testing and conversion rate optimisation
  • Monthly performance reporting against a defined set of KPIs, explicitly connecting activity to outcomes
  • Competitor and category monitoring, with monthly landscape summaries
  • Metadata, alt text and visual/video asset optimisation across the site
  • Link health management, including broken link resolution and toxic backlink monitoring
  • Close collaboration with Pollen's designers and developers to keep digital output consistent, on-brand and commercially sharp

Ways of working

This is a fully remote role. Pollen is a remote-first studio with physical hubs in London (Shoreditch) and Florence, both of which freelance collaborators are welcome to work from. You can be based anywhere, but you'll need significant working-hour overlap with Central European Time to attend a weekly working meetings and a monthly strategic review with the client, and to collaborate closely with our London and Florence based team.

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. You'll be reporting directly to a US-based client lead every month and presenting findings in clear, confident, commercial language.

Requirements

To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • 5+ years in a senior SEO, digital performance or growth role, ideally in an agency or in-house at a brand-led business
  • A track record of owning and moving website KPIs (organic traffic, bounce rate, session duration, conversion rate), supported by referenceable case studies
  • Advanced hands-on proficiency with SEMrush (or direct equivalent), GA4 and Google Search Console
  • Strong working knowledge of technical SEO: Core Web Vitals, structured data, site architecture, crawl and indexation issues
  • A clear, articulated point of view on AI and generative search optimisation
  • Comfort managing website content directly in WordPress (some training will be provided)
  • Experience designing and running A/B tests and translating results into UX recommendations
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Ability to work UK business hours (significant overlap minimum)
  • Ability to invoice as a registered freelancer or limited company
  • Right to work as a self-employed contractor in your country of residence

Nice to have

  • Luxury, lifestyle, fashion or premium consumer brand exposure
  • Familiarity with Crazy Egg or comparable heatmapping and session-replay tools
  • Prior experience collaborating closely with designers and developers inside a studio environment

What this role is not

This is not a development or coding role, and it is not a junior SEO position. You'll be the senior performance voice on a high-profile account from day one, so we need someone who can own the work independently rather than execute to a brief.

How to apply

Please send the following to with the subject line Senior Digital Performance Specialist:

  1. Your CV
  2. A short cover note (max 250 words) explaining why this brief fits you
  3. Two or three relevant case studies showing measurable performance outcomes you've driven (links or PDFs welcome)

We review applications on a rolling basis and will begin first-round conversations shortly. Applications without case studies or demonstrable KPI impact will not be considered.

Pollen is committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the work we do. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
