Senior Devops / Cloud Engineer

We are building a cloud-native, automated platform for real-time decision making and execution , operating in an algorithmic-trading-style environment.
We are looking for a Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to design and develop our AWS production infrastructure from zero .
This is a foundational role in a system where availability, operational excellence, and failure handling matter every day .
Strong performance in this role may lead to broader platform ownership and management responsibilities as the company scales.
What you’ll do
- Design and build a production-grade cloud environment (dev / test / prod separation)
- Run containerized workloads supporting time-critical execution flows
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines in GitLab with safe rollback
- Develop and maintain production code (preferably in Python) to integrate external APIs (data providers, exchange, internal services)
- Own infrastructure boundaries with external platforms and vendors , operating reliably despite partial failures or unclear SLAs
- Support regulated, auditable systems for 24/7 operations with strong logging, retention, and evidence
- Design systems that fail safely , degrade gracefully, and can be reconstructed from logs and audit trails
What we’re looking for
- Strong Cloud experience (AWS or Azure)
- Solid Linux, networking, and cloud security fundamentals
- Familiarity with containerization and deployment concepts (e.G. Docker)
- Strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD (pipelines, runners, deployment strategies)
- Solid Python programming skills, especially for REST API integration and external services integration
