About the role:
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2–5 years’ experience in the UK electrical engineering or energy infrastructure sector, looking to develop their skills in a multidisciplinary, project-delivery role. Working under the guidance of the Design Interface Manager, you will coordinate design inputs, manage interface documentation, and ensure alignment between internal teams, external stakeholders, and vendors. This role offers a pathway to grow into more senior responsibilities, with training, mentoring, and exposure to multidisciplinary projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Design Interface Manager in coordinating engineering deliverables across civil, electrical, SCADA, and other engineering teams.
- Assist in reviewing interface documents such as layouts, SLDs, cable schedules, and SCADA/EMS drawings.
- Help liaise with EPC contractors, ICPs, OEMs, and internal teams to support timely design submissions.
- Maintain design trackers, interface registers, and submission logs under supervision.
- Provide support in reviewing SCADA/EMS documentation, signal lists, and auxiliary equipment specifications
- Help ensure compliance with UK standards and electrical safety regulations (ENA, G99, BS, IEC) under guidance.
- Participate in internal design review meetings and technical discussions.
- Attend site visits to support design coordination and surveys.
Qualification and expertise:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (essential)
- 3–4 years’ relevant experience in electrical design or coordination for grid-connected or energy infrastructure projects within the UK (essential)
- Familiarity with design documents like SLDs, layout drawings, cable schedules, and SCADA block diagrams
- Exposure to UK DNO/ICP processes and grid code compliance (G99) desirable
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of design packages under supervision
