Senior Big Data Engineer (m/f/d) role at Alpitronic

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of our data warehouse / lakehouse solution
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data
  • Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and security across all data systems
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, documentation and data cataloguing
  • Contribute to streaming data solutions

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or similar
  • Several years of professional experience in a similar role in the field of data engineering or database development
  • Good understanding of SQL and data modeling concepts
  • Solid Python skills, with experience in API development and ETL tools (e.g., AWS Glue or Apache Airflow)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, preferably AWS and/or Microsoft Fabric
  • Good understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker)
  • Exposure to big data tools such as PySpark and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus
  • Interest or experience in modern data stack tools such as dbt, Delta Lake, Iceberg, and Spark-based lakehouses
  • Fluency in English; Italian and/or German as a plus
