Responsibilities

• Maintain and follow strict confidentiality as customer privacy is our most important tenet
• Work with a range of data types including text, speech, audio, image, and video
• Deliver high-quality labeled data using provided guidelines and in-house tools to meet KPIs as part of Amazon’s responsible AI initiatives
• Generate high-quality human insight data across modalities (text, image, video, audio)
• Make sound judgments when faced with ambiguous or incomplete information
• Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to pivot between different requirement categories
• Support daily operational deliverables for multiple task types within the team
• Analyze root causes, identify error patterns, and propose solutions to improve labeling quality
• Identify day-to-day process and operational issues in SOPs and tools, and suggest changes to unblock operations
• Provide floor support to clarify internal queries during execution as needed

A day in the life

We are looking for a ML Data Associate (MLDA) to undertake foundational labeling tasks, such as dialogue evaluation on speech, text, audio, and video data. Your concentration, ability to multi-task, and high attention to detail help deliver high-quality work while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Amazon policies. You will be part of a diverse team with a shared vision of improving customers’ lives with practical generative AI innovations.

About the team

The team works in the office Monday through Friday with an eight-hour shift. We continuously seek ways to improve capabilities and deliver the best product. You will join a diverse team with regular meetings, trainings, and Amazon events throughout the year.

Basic Qualifications

• An Associate’s Degree or related work experience
• CEFR C1+ or equivalent fluency in German
• Written and spoken English essential (CEFR B2+)
• Strong business writing skills for reports, proposals, and professional correspondence
• Advanced reading comprehension and ability to analyze complex business documents
• Structured problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking
• Ability to interpret and implement detailed instructions across projects
• Proficient research skills and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources
• Proven attention to detail in managing complex tasks and documents

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 2+ years of professional work experience with demonstrated task execution ability
• Experience leveraging open-source resources for research
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances
• 2-3 years of project coordination or management experience (support functions teams)
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships across departments
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications
