Senior Data Analyst
Descrizione dell'offerta
What if you could define how millions of Europeans use everyday services inside a single (Super)App?
Rebell is building something Europe has never had before: a Super App.
A single place where people can shop, pay, book, connect, and manage their daily lives, without switching between dozens of apps.
Inspired by Asian Super Apps like Alipay and WeChat, Rebell is designed for Europe. We are a licensed Electronic Money Institution (EMI), funded (+30M CHF), with senior leaders from Alipay, Twint, Scalapay, Qonto, and Glovo, preparing for our first market launch in late 2026.
The Payments pillar is the backbone of Rebell.
We are now hiring a Senior Data Analyst – Financial & Payments Control to help us design and scale the control framework behind it.
You will not just analyze data. You will design the systems that make financial data reliable.
The Role
Antonio, Director of Payments, is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to own and strengthen Rebell’s financial control architecture.
You will operate across:
- Multiple MiniApp generated financial flows
- Wallet transactions
- Card and SEPA rails
- Merchant settlements
- Safeguarded funds
- Internal ledger
- External ERP
- Compliance and regulatory reporting outputs
Your job is to make complexity reliable.
As we scale, this function is expected to grow, including structured ownership of reporting exports, data cleansing processes, and regulatory grade data governance.
This is a foundational role: you will build the first version of Rebell’s financial control and reconciliation framework, creating the baseline that will scale with the company.
As a Senior Data Analyst – Payments, Reconciliation & Financial Control, you will:
- Design reconciliation frameworks across ledger, banks, acquirers, safeguarded accounts, and ERP.
- Ensure daily financial integrity across all MiniApp flows.
- Turn inconsistencies into scalable control mechanisms.
- Translate operational complexity into structured, repeatable systems.
- Automate controls using SQL and Python, progressively reducing manual checks.
- Build structured monitoring systems (control logic, exception tracking, automated alerts).
- Collaborate with Payments, Finance, Operations, Compliance and Engineering to ensure cross system coherence.
- Reconcile compliance and regulatory reporting datasets with operational and ledger data.
- Validate invoices and scheme costs, identifying pricing anomalies.
- Identify recurring performance issues on card acquiring rails (e.g., soft declines, latency spikes, routing or provider specific drops) and drive data backed improvement loops with Payments and Engineering, including before and after measurement and ongoing tracking.
- Monitor SLA performance of providers (approval rates, settlement timing, latency, file accuracy).
Success in this role looks like
- Financial breaks are detected early and resolved systematically.
- Ledger, banks, and ERP are consistently aligned.
- Compliance exports are reliable, traceable, and reconcilable.
- Provider performance is measurable and transparent.
- Card acquiring performance improves over time because issues are detected, explained with data, fixed with clear actions, and tracked with measurable outcomes.
- Manual reconciliations are progressively replaced by automated controls.
- New MiniApps can launch without creating financial chaos.
- When complexity increases, control scales with it.

About you
- 5+ years of experience in payments, fintech, banking, acquiring, or financial operations.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, working knowledge of Python (or similar) for automation.
- Experience working on embedded products, platform layers, SDKs, APIs, or partner-facing tools.
- Understanding of settlement logic and reconciliation principles (can deepen on the job).
- Comfortable operating in regulated or high complexity environments.
- Experience working with multiple financial systems (ledger, banks, ERP, processors).
- Structured thinker who enjoys finding inconsistencies.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: ownership, pragmatism, speed, and impact over process.
- You are uncomfortable with “this can’t be done” as a final answer.
Our office is located in Milan (Centrale). The standard contract includes 3 days of remote work per week.
