Senior Consultant EHS

Job Overview

ERM is seeking a motivated Senior Consultant in Environmental Health and Safety with a passion for sustainability to join our growing team. The role will be based in Milan but we offer flexible working arrangements. Our clients operate in complex regulatory environments across energy, technology, mining and multinational sectors, and need expertise in EHS strategy, system design, compliance, audit programmes and environmental management.

Responsibilities

• Support in managing EHS aspects across all phases of a construction site project, from design and procurement through execution and commissioning.
• Identify risks, conduct risk assessments and support the development of preventive measures to minimize accidents and environmental impacts.
• Advise and support clients in the implementation of standards and legal regulations in the area of occupational safety and health protection.
• Regularly review and update security policies and procedures to ensure they comply with current best practices and legal requirements.
• Plan, implement and evaluate training and workshops in occupational safety and health protection for our customers.
• Conduct on‑site diagnostics to assess current safety culture and develop tailor‑made solutions to build a strong safety culture in client companies.
• Travel regularly to clients both in Italy and abroad.

Qualifications

• Completed studies or comparable training with a focus on environmental protection, occupational safety, health or sustainability.
• 3-4 years of experience as an H&S expert with in‑depth knowledge of legal regulations and industry standards.
• Experience in construction safety, preferably within industrial, infrastructure, energy or large capital projects.
• Experience in auditing and performing safety inspections and reviewing safety documentation.
• Experience and/or strong interest in conducting training and workshops and implementing safety cultures in companies.
• Analytical thinking and the ability to identify complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• Team player with a passion for environmental protection and sustainable business development.
• Excellent written and spoken Italian and English skills.
