Senior Construction Project Manager | Utility-Scale Solar & BESS

Location: Sicily, Italy

An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Italian Independent Power Producer (IPP) at a pivotal stage of its growth. With a development pipeline of over 1 GW of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects across Sicily, the business is preparing to commence construction on its first projects this September.

As Senior Construction Project Manager, you will play a key role in establishing and leading the construction function, taking ownership of project delivery from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while helping to shape the company's long-term construction strategy as its portfolio continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end construction delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee programme, budget, HSE, quality, and contractual performance across multiple sites.
• Coordinate with engineering, grid, permitting, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while providing regular progress reporting to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects, ideally Solar PV and/or BESS.
• Strong background in construction and site management with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent knowledge of EPC contract management, HSE standards, and project controls.
• Experience managing projects in Italy, with knowledge of local regulations and stakeholder management.
• Fluent Italian and a good working knowledge of English.
