Senior Construction Engineer

Construction Engineer – Head Office (Milano) | Oil & Gas EPC

For one of our clients operating in the Oil & Gas EPC sector, we are looking to hire a Construction Engineer to be based in their head offices in Milan.

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting construction activities from the proposal phase through to site mobilization , ensuring proper coordination and definition of construction strategies in line with project requirements, contractual obligations, and company standards.

The role is fully integrated within the Construction & Commissioning Department and requires close interaction with Project Management, Proposal, Procurement, and Project Control teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively support the Proposal Department during the bidding phase, contributing to construction planning, manpower estimation, cost analysis, and technical evaluation of subcontractors.
• Perform technical alignment of subcontractor proposals during both bidding and execution phases
• Contribute to the definition and consolidation of construction strategy in line with scope, budget and contractual requirements
• Review contractual documentation to ensure a fit-for-purpose construction execution approach
• Provide inputs for project scheduling, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones
• Support the definition of construction manhours by discipline and work class
• Coordinate home office construction activities for one or more projects until site mobilization
• Promote and verify implementation of the constructability plan
• Prepare and review key construction documentation, including procedures, specifications, Work Requisitions (WR), Site Mobilization Plans, and Vendor Assistance Plans.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Construction roles within EPC projects, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Energy sector
• Proven experience in home office construction activities, supporting projects from bidding phase through to site mobilization
• Solid involvement in proposal / tendering phase, including construction planning, manpower estimation, cost analysis and technical bid evaluation
• Strong understanding of constructability processes and construction execution strategies
• Experience in construction manhours estimation and coordination with Project Control
• Hands-on experience in technical evaluation and management of subcontractors
• Ability to review contractual documentation and translate it into practical construction execution approaches
• Previous site experience is considered a strong plus
• Fluent English

You will be based in Milan, Italy (with availability for occasional travel if required).
