A leading international, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Site Development Engineer to join its growing Infrastructure team in Italy.
This organisation delivers complex, high-profile projects across working within integrated global teams to provide fully coordinated civil engineering solutions.
Operating within a BIM-led environment, the team develops innovative, sustainable infrastructure solutions — maximising green infrastructure (GI) and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) wherever possible — and collaborates across disciplines within a Common Data Environment (CDE).
The Role:
As a Senior Site Development Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of site infrastructure packages on technically demanding industrial and data centre projects.
You will:
Lead the design and coordination of site infrastructure across all design stages
Act as project lead and primary client interface
Guide projects from feasibility through permitting, procurement and construction
Define and oversee site surveys and testing requirements
Develop infrastructure designs including:
Surface water and foul water drainage
Roads and car parks
Earthworks
Energy and utility networks (electrical and fibre)
Manage supervision of civil construction works (Clerk of Works involvement)
Coordinate multidisciplinary design interfaces (architectural, structural, geotechnical, landscape, MEP)
Contribute to bid preparation and broader business development initiatives
Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team
Drive digital delivery excellence within a BIM-focused environment
About You:
We are looking for a technically strong and commercially aware civil engineer who is passionate about sustainable site development and digital innovation.
You will bring:
Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 10 years’ consultancy experience
Chartered status (or working towards it)
Strong technical capability across:
Surface water & foul drainage design
Roads & external works
Earthworks & utilities
Hydraulic modelling
Experience managing projects through the Italian regulatory and planning framework
Proven ability to lead design from concept to construction
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams
Strong BIM leadership experience within a collaborative CDE
Proficiency in Civil 3D and Revit
Knowledge of Navisworks and clash detection processes
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
