About Cespira

Cespira is a joint venture between Westport and Volvo Group, purpose-built to accelerate the decarbonization of heavy transport through our HPDI fuel system technology. We are a lean, high-impact organization at an exciting inflection point, scaling globally while operating with the agility and hands‑on culture of a startup.

As we grow, our data, systems, and processes must keep pace. The Business Systems Analyst will play a critical role in modernizing how we operate, digging into a legacy JDE environment to eliminate outdated workarounds, while also strengthening and integrating the broader data and system landscape that supports Cespira’s next chapter.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, is comfortable with ambiguity, and is at ease collaborating and building strong relationships across the organization while taking real ownership of outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst with hands‑on JD Edwards EnterpriseOne configuration (v9.1 or later) across a minimum of three modules: Manufacturing, Inventory, Procurement, Financials, Sales, or Warehousing.
  • Experience inheriting or assessing an existing JDE environment—able to quickly evaluate what’s in place, identify risks, and build a path forward without starting from scratch.
  • Experience with JDE integrations, EDI, and inter‑system data exchange.
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to own end‑to‑end process improvement or system implementation projects, from requirements through deployment.
  • Comfortable being the sole subject matter expert—able to operate independently, make sound decisions, and know when to elevate or bring in outside support.
  • Able to influence and manage stakeholders at all levels without direct authority.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to engage effectively across both business and technical audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and logistics platforms.
  • Experience with cross‑functional integrations involving CRM, MES, or PLM systems.
  • Familiarity with Power BI.
  • Exposure to master data management or data quality initiatives.
  • Experience with Agile or hybrid SDLC methodologies.
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites, time zones, and cultures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance) to align systems and processes with product development timelines, production requirements, and customer delivery expectations.
  • Analyze and optimize end‑to‑end processes across product lifecycle stages—from development and sourcing through manufacturing and distribution—ensuring system capabilities support operational efficiency, traceability, and compliance (e.g., IATF 16949).
  • Support ERP (JDE) and adjacent data systems to enable accurate production planning, inventory control, procurement, and shop floor execution while identifying and eliminating manual workarounds.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by conducting gap analyses, improving data integrity, and standardizing workflows to enhance reliability, reporting accuracy, and decision‑making across plants and functions.
  • Enable successful system changes and deployments by defining requirements, supporting testing (UAT), and facilitating adoption across global teams in a complex, multi‑site automotive environment.
  • Ensure data integrity across systems by defining and reinforcing data standards, identifying inconsistencies, and partnering with business and IT teams to improve master data quality (e.g., BOMs, supplier database, costs, routings).
  • Maintain critical system documentation and training materials to support consistent understanding and use of JDE and related systems—focusing on key configurations, core processes, and user enablement rather than full functional process ownership.
  • Develop and support end‑user training and knowledge transfer, helping move from informal, one‑off training to structured, repeatable guidance that scales across the organization.
  • Act as a change agent for system and process adoption, guiding teams away from manual workarounds toward standardized, system‑driven practices and ensuring changes are clearly understood and embedded in daily operations.
