Senior Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy Origination (IPP)

Europe-Based | Extensive Travel Across Central, Northern & Eastern Europe

A leading international renewable energy platform is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager – Origination (IPP) to drive the sourcing, structuring, and closing of renewable energy acquisitions across Europe.

This is a high-impact, front-line origination role with full ownership of transactions, from first market entry through signing and closing across utility-scale PV, BESS, and wind projects, with future expansion into emerging technologies such as Data Centres and Power-to-X.

If you are commercially driven, thrive on deal-making, and want full accountability for MW-scale growth, this is a rare opportunity to shape a European portfolio at scale.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of:

  • Proactively originating off-market and proprietary renewable opportunities
  • Building and maintaining strong local pipelines with developers, landowners, brokers, utilities, and partners
  • Leading market entry strategies and establishing origination channels in new geographies
  • Screening projects from early-stage through RTB
  • Driving full commercial evaluation, valuation, and investment strategy
  • Preparing and submitting NBOs and term sheets in competitive processes
  • Leading full due diligence (technical, legal, financial, permitting, grid)
  • Negotiating SPA, DSA, JV, and development partnership agreements
  • Taking transactions from origination through signing and closing
  • Ensuring seamless handover to development and asset management teams

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years’ experience in renewable energy origination, acquisitions, or development within an IPP or leading platform
  • Proven track record of successfully closed transactions (not just sourced) in PV, BESS, and/or wind
  • Hands-on experience leading NBOs, due diligence, and contract negotiations
  • Strong knowledge of European permitting regimes, grid connection processes, and development risk
  • Direct market exposure across Central, Northern, and Eastern Europe
  • Commercially sharp with strong negotiation capability
  • Comfortable operating independently and managing multiple live deals
  • Fluent English (additional European languages highly advantageous)
  • Willingness to travel extensively

Why This Role?

  • Front-line deal ownership with real autonomy
  • Exposure to multi-country European transactions
  • Opportunity to shape market entry and long-term growth strategy
  • Work across established and emerging energy technologies
  • Competitive base salary
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Car allowance
  • Stock options
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Join a well-capitalised international platform with ambitious European expansion plans
