Senior Backend Engineer - Italy

Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Backend Developer to join our cloud engineering team. You will design and build scalable serverless services in a production AWS environment, working closely with our senior international team on a platform that processes large volumes of media in real time.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build serverless backend services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, and DynamoDB
• Implement secure authentication and authorisation flows with AWS Cognito and OAuth2/OIDC
• Build and maintain asynchronous processing pipelines for document and image workloads
• Contribute to API design and backend architecture decisions
• Integrate AI/LLM tooling to improve code quality and development workflows
• Participate in code reviews and help maintain a high engineering standard

Qualifications

• Fluent in English / Polish
• 5+ years of backend development, with at least 3 years in AWS serverless environments
• Strong Node.js / TypeScript / Python
• DynamoDB data modelling (GSI/LSI, access patterns)
• Python for scripting and data processing
• Security best practices: JWT, IAM, secrets management
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices — CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and infrastructure as code
