Job Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated SENIOR AUTOMATION PRODUCT LINE ENGINEER who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks, from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa, Italy. We are looking for a technician with experience (at least 10 years post-graduation) in designing Automation software systems, for all phases of the life cycle, and in managing and coordinating teams.

Accountabilities
- Analysis and definition of software systems architectures
- Selection of the most appropriate technologies for the context
- Planning of activities
- Design and implementation of software components
- Managing the testing and deployment of software components
- Knowledge of software design methodologies (agile methodologies, DevOps, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Object Oriented Analysis)
- In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Docker swarm)
- Knowledge of technologies for building cloud-native systems
- Knowledge of Javascript, NodeJS, HTML/XML, HTML5, JSON, Java languages
- Knowledge of graphical Javascript tools (Angular-9, AngularJs, Bootstrap)
- Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, PostreSQL, MariaDB) and no-sql (MongoDB, Redis)
- Knowledge of Version Control systems (git, svn)
- Thorough knowledge of Linux operating system (RedHat, Ubuntu)
- Ability to estimate and plan software development activities
- Experience in the implementation of applications in rail and metro automation
- Master's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent degree
