A leading international industrial group is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Corporate M&A and Investments team in Milan. The team executes acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and strategic minority investments across energy transition, infrastructure, engineering, and industrial technologies. Operating within a lean and highly analytical environment, this role offers broad exposure, significant responsibility, and direct interaction with senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Execution: Own core workstreams across acquisitions, disposals, JV structuring and strategic investments, including modelling, valuation, due diligence, and preparation of transaction materials.
- Strategic Analysis: Assess strategic fit, synergy potential, competitive positioning, and market dynamics across industrial, energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical, operational, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment and support decision-making throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Deal Structuring & Financial Analysis: Produce detailed operating models, scenario analyses, valuation outputs, and investment proposals for senior leadership and board-level review.
- Market Intelligence: Track activity across energy transition, industrial technologies, EPC, and infrastructure markets to support origination and strategic planning.
- Documentation & Presentation: Prepare investment memoranda, board presentations, process materials, and management documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Integration Support: Contribute to post-acquisition integration planning, performance tracking, and operational value creation initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: 3–6 years’ experience in investment banking (M&A), corporate M&A, transaction services, or strategy consulting with strong modelling and analytical exposure.
- Technical Competence: Advanced financial modelling skills, valuation expertise, and experience managing analytical workstreams under tight deadlines.
- Execution Experience: Direct involvement in live M&A transactions, ideally within industrials, energy, infrastructure, or capital-intensive sectors.
- Commercial Mindset: Ability to understand business models, assess operational drivers, and articulate strategic rationale clearly.
- Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication, with confidence in presenting to senior internal stakeholders.
- Personality & Mindset: Highly motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership in a lean, fast-paced environment.
- Education: Strong academic background in finance, economics, engineering, or related quantitative disciplines.
Location:
Milan-based, with occasional European travel.
