Salary: Up to €90,000 + benefits

Location:

This role is based

on site in Bologna, Italy , It will require some travel to customer sites and R&D centres.

Language:

The prime language required in the work place is English.

This role would suit an engineer with solid understanding of

excavator or wheeled loader performance . It involves understanding how different attachments effect machine performance. It also involves providing input to design to optimise and enhance machines to meet customer requirements and specifications.

Note:

Proven relevant engineering experience applied directly to excavator or wheeled loader machines is essential for this position.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join an expanding off-highway construction machinery manufacturer with worldwide locations including the UK and Europe. It may suit a Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Development Engineer, Validation Engineer, Performance Engineer or Systems Engineer with good customer facing skills that has worked specifically on excavator or wheeled loader platforms.

The purpose of this role is to work with test and validation (T&V) teams to understand the performance of excavators or wheeled loaders when using different attachments. The results from the performance tests are captured and analysed and compared to customer specifications and product requirements.

The applications engineer will work with design and development teams to

enhance and optimise machine designs

to improve their versatility and meet requirements.

Typical involvements:

Applications Engineer – Machine Performance Review new machine attachment enquiries, identify key technical criteria and develop optimised product solutions utilising design, test and machine performance teams Work with clients and engineering teams to develop product solutions including hydraulic interfaces, mounting brackets, controls, installation guides etc. Visit customers to survey product application performance and identify new opportunities Technically support bids, understand emerging technologies and benchmark competitors. xpavfwm

Skills / Knowledge:

Applications Engineer – Machine Performance A degree or higher in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or similar Excellent technical understanding and experience of working within construction machinery design, development, validation or performance ( excavator or wheeled loader platforms ) Experience of construction machinery test, validation and performance Able to work effectively with customers, also internal sales, design, development and validation teams High proficiency in English (other language skills would be useful) Able to analyse and interpret customer requirements and performance data

Others; Beneficial skills A hands-on background in construction machinery performance, test, validation or optimisation High level understanding of hydraulic systems and control for excavators, wheel loaders or similar (heavy machines for construction/off-highway, agricultural purposes).
