Company Description

Fineco Bank is a leading European bank with a 20-year history and a fully digital DNA with a branchless approach since the start. Fineco is one of the banks with the widest product range available. We have developed a truly one-stop solution which includes trading, investment and payment services. We have developed a 100% proprietary platform for trading and investment which covers all customer needs from trading listed and OTC products to investment products such as mutual funds and ETFs. In addition, we also offer banking and payment solutions for domestic and international demand. Position: Fineco Bank is accelerating its AI transformation across the entire value chain — from advisory and wealth management to operations and client experience. Within the AI Business Interface & Innovation Hub unit, we are building the bridge between the most advanced AI capabilities and the lines of business that generate value for our clients and the bank. The Senior AI Innovation & Delivery Lead is a role designed for a technology-focused profile capable of operating at the intersection of business strategy and engineering execution. We are looking for a professional who has already delivered GenAI and ML systems in regulated, high-impact environments. The selected resource will be responsible for translating complex business requirements from Fineco stakeholders into production-grade AI solutions — owning the entire lifecycle from ideation and architecture to deployment and ongoing monitoring. He or she will serve as the primary technical interface between IT and business, ensuring that AI initiatives are not only technically sound but also commercially sustainable and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Milano (alternating presence on site and remote work)

Responsibilities

Responsabilità Principali – Architecture and Delivery of AI Solutions

  • Design, architect, and release production-grade AI/GenAI systems for Fineco's business lines: advisory intelligence, portfolio optimization, automation of customer interactions, operational efficiency.
  • Manage the entire AI product lifecycle: from business requirement analysis and feasibility assessment, through architectural design, development, deployment, and post-release monitoring.
  • Implement multi-agent workflows, RAG architectures, and LLM-based decision systems operating within Fineco’s risk tolerance and regulatory framework.
  • Define and enforce AI reliability standards, with the authority to escalate or block releases that do not meet quality thresholds for client-facing or financially impactful systems.

Interfaccia Business‑Tecnologia

  • Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders (Wealth Management, Advisory, Operations, Compliance) and the IT/Engineering teams for AI initiatives.
  • Translate business problems into technical specifications and communicate technical constraints and opportunities to non‑technical decision‑makers in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and Risk to ensure AI solutions comply with DORA, AI Act, and internal governance requirements from design onward.
  • Produce technical feasibility assessments, architectural proposals, and cost‑benefit analyses to support investment decisions for the Innovation Hub.

Piattaforma e Contributo Ingegneristico

  • Contribute to the design and evolution of Fineco’s AI platform strategy, ensuring scalability, cost efficiency, and agent‑ready readiness of internal APIs and data pipelines.
  • Introduce and promote MLOps best practices: CI/CD for models, automated evaluation frameworks, monitoring, versioning, and audit trails suitable for a regulated banking environment.
  • Evaluate and recommend vendors, tools, and AI frameworks, producing structured assessments that inform platform strategy.
  • Coordinate a small cross‑functional delivery squad (3–5 people) and work closely with broader IT and data‑engineering teams.

Innovazione e Advisory Strategico

  • Explore emerging AI capabilities (agent systems, multimodal models, advanced RAG patterns) and evaluate their applicability to Fineco’s business model.
  • Support technical due diligence for potential partnerships, vendor integrations, or AI/data‑related M&A activities.
  • Contribute to the Innovation Hub roadmap and quarterly planning, anchoring strategic ambitions to realistic technical execution plans.

Requirements

Requisiti Essenziali

  • Degree in scientific disciplines (STEM).
  • 7+ years in data science, ML engineering, or AI product delivery, at least 3 years in senior/lead roles with ownership of production systems.
  • Track record in GenAI production: proven delivery of RAG systems, LLM‑powered workflows, or multi‑agent orchestration in production environments — not just PoC or demo.
  • Mastery of modern AI stack: Python, LangChain/LlamaIndex, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, vector databases, orchestration frameworks (Airflow or equivalents).
  • Business‑technology fluency: proven ability to translate executive priorities into technical roadmaps and communicate engineering trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in regulated sectors: financial services, fintech, or equivalent environments where AI reliability, auditability, and risk management are essential.
  • Cloud platform competence: GCP preferred (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Cloud Run); AWS/Azure acceptable. Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines.
  • Cross‑functional leadership: experience managing or leading teams spanning data engineering, ML engineering, and software development.
  • Language skills: excellent proficiency in English; French knowledge is a plus.

Requisiti Graditi

  • Experience transforming internal AI/data capabilities into external or cross‑business‑unit products that generated new revenue streams.
  • Experience in post‑merger integration, technical due diligence, or consolidation of technology stacks.
  • Ph.D. or strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics).
  • Track record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals, demonstrating analytical rigor and scientific communication skill.
  • MLOps maturity: model monitoring, automated evaluation, and versioning in production financial contexts.
  • Familiarity with the European AI regulatory landscape (AI Act, DORA, GDPR applied to AI systems).
