Senior AI Compute Engineer

PositionAI Computer Engineer – NVIDIA Infrastructure Specialists (NVIS)Job OverviewWe are looking for an AI Computer Engineer to join our NVIDIA Infrastructure Specialists (NVIS) team. The role focuses on analyzing, defining, and implementing large‑scale AI Factory projects that support academic and commercial groups worldwide. You will work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams on networking, system design, and automation while serving as the primary point of contact for customers.ResponsibilitiesDeploy, manage, and maintain AI infrastructure for new and existing customers.Act as the domain expert during planning calls through implementation.Create handover documentation and perform knowledge transfers to support customers during rollout.Provide feedback to internal teams by opening bugs, documenting workarounds, and suggesting improvements.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.8+ years of in‑depth support and deployment services in data centers, solving problems for hardware and software products.Proficiency with Linux OS administration, process management, package management, task scheduling, kernel management, boot procedures, troubleshooting, and performance reporting/optimization/logging.Experience with data‑center network products and protocols.Experience with data‑center monitoring solutions.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain and deliver resolutions for customer‑blocking issues.Excellent verbal and written English skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multi‑task with limited supervision.Ways to Stand OutNVIDIA certifications such as AI Infrastructure and Operations, AI Infrastructure, or AI Operations.Kubernetes experience.Experience with AI‑focused hardware (GPUs) or software (training/inference).Background in scripting or automation tooling.Industry‑standard data center certifications.SalaryBase salary ranges for Italy: Level4 – €66,000–€114,000; Level5 – €86,250–€149,500.
