This vacancy is within the Unit Space, Connectivity and Economic Security of the Directorate for Societal Resilience and Security .

The Unit’s mission is to foster the EU’s resilience and citizens’ trust by enhancing the security and resilience of essential space-based, terrestrial and connectivity infrastructures and services. The Unit does this through research, assessing current and emerging technological trends and anticipating the geopolitical security landscape including hybrid threats and technological risks.

The successful candidate will contribute to and carry out projects and activities related to security, space and defence, interacting with internal stakeholders in the JRC and the Commission as well as external ones. S/he will carry out activities in accordance with the priorities and the strategy of the JRC and the Directorate for Societal Resilience and Security, thus contributing to achieving the objectives assigned to the Unit, in compliance with the Commission’s and the DG’s management framework (legal requirements, Internal Control Standards, Integrated management system).
