About the Role
The role is responsible for all security and loss prevention matters at the main site in Trecate, as well as the associated consolidation centers to protect the supply chain end-to-end with a focus on people, assets operations and brand. This includes developing and enforcing security policies, implementing risk management strategies, and conducting investigations to ensure the protection of people, assets, operations, and the GXO and client brands, in full compliance with local laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure security and loss prevention compliance with local and European legislation as well as GXO standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all customer-related security matters at GXO operations in Trecate and its consolidation center.
- Collaborate closely with the customer’s security management, including transport network security when applicable.
- Provide guidance, directives, and oversight, including control and audit of security systems at relevant sites.
- Assess site characteristics based on the security risk profile.
- Maintain security and legal compliance, with knowledge and experience of applicable security laws and regulations.
- Adhere to all security policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper understanding and correct usage of all security systems, including CCTV, intrusion alarm systems, and EAS barriers.
- Ensure full understanding and adherence to Loss Prevention (LP) and Security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Lead the implementation of security programs, including business continuity, crisis management, risk mitigation, and high-level threat resolution.
- Safeguard company assets across Italian sites in collaboration with the Business Unit Director.
- Ensure robust perimeter protection, access control, surveillance systems, and site security measures to prevent unauthorized entry and safeguard high-value assets.
- Coordinate and supervise the Security team responsible for operational control activities within the sites.
- Prevent and manage theft within warehouses to protect customer goods and maintain service quality.
- Oversee external security services and manage anti-intrusion, alarm, and video surveillance systems in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Define operational instructions and security procedures and ensure their implementation in partnership with site managers, area managers, and business unit directors.
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies to manage and prevent theft-related issues and complaints.
- Perform all activities in compliance with workplace safety regulations (Legislative Decree 81/08) and asset protection procedures.
- Ensure compliance with required security standards across all processes under responsibility.
- Support local managers in interactions with QE3SH regulators (e.g., HSE, local authorities, law enforcement), including inspections, audits, and responses to complaints.
- Provide feedback on identified security risks and recommend solutions and corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of secure teamwork and continuous improvement across all company activities to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure business reporting to stakeholders and line management.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding current and past investigations and outcomes.
- Manage special projects and events assigned (e.g., travel security program, ISO 28000:2022 certification, due diligence program).
- Drive training and development of security personnel to ensure technical and functional skill requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area (preferably Security Management, Law, Criminology), or related field with accompanying high level analytical skills.
- Security recognized certification preferable (such as UNI10459:2017, ASIS CPP, and similar) at least as security manager.
- Experience in ISO 31000:2018, ISO TS/37008:2023, etc. depending on site need. Proven by relevant training.
- Relevant experience in the field of Security, Loss prevention, Investigation.
- Trained in Wicklander-Zulawski non-confrontational interview techniques.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a complex and multidimensional organization.
