Scientific Editor (Volunteer, Remote)
Lumen is a newly founded, independent non-profit Think Tank and research community operating across AI, technology, digital ecosystems, and emerging socio-technical systems. We are currently in a pre-launch phase , building the foundations of our research agenda, editorial standards, and publication strategy.
We are seeking a Scientific Editor to support the Lead Researcher in the early stages of applied research development and academic publication.
Role & Responsibilities
The Scientific Editor will work closely with the Lead Researcher to:
- Support the identification and refinement of research questions and hypotheses
- Contribute to the definition and validation of research methodologies
- Provide editorial and structural guidance on research outputs
- Support the selection of appropriate journals, conferences, or publication venues
- Ensure clarity, coherence, and methodological rigor across research materials
- Help align research outputs with academic and applied research standards
This role focuses on research design, positioning, and publication strategy , rather than copyediting alone.
