We are looking for a Scientific Data Management and Analysis Assistant to work in the IDATA Unit.

Annual Salary: 28000€ - 34000€

The candidate will be working within the IDATA Unit providing support on the analysis and assessment of scientific data relevant to processes in EFSA. In particular, the candidate will support the: Extraction, analysis and presentation of scientific data;

Creation and maintenance of databases;

Integration of data from multiple sources Development and optimization of pipelines to automate data validation, transformation and migration;

Presentation offindings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports and dashboards, oral presentations, or written communications.

Essential requirements: Excellent knowledge of English (C1 level);

Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioinformatics or related fields;

At least 1 yearof proven experience in evidence and data collection, management and analysis, including developing and maintaining data processing pipelines;

Advanced Pythonprogramming skills;

Basic knowledgeof version control systems, e.G. Git;

Experience withstructured / machine-readable data exchange formats such as XML or JSON;

Basic knowledgeof SQL and relational databases;

Experience in writing scientific and/or technical documents;

Behavioural competencies: attention to details, work with others, focus on stakeholder needs, analysis and problem solving, work with ambiguity. Desirable requirements: Experience with chemical or biological databases, software, tools and data formats (e.G. IUCLID, OECD Harmonised Templates);

Experience using Databricks for data processing, transformation and analytics in a cloud-based data engineering environment;

Experience withMicrosoft Power Platform technologies (e.G. Power BI) and Azure Cloud services;

Assignment: initial contract of 3 months, with possibility of extension. Expected duration of assignment: 24 months. Salary: approx. € 2326,00 per month before taxes. Work modalities: office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possible within 2 hours from Parma, Italy for the remaining days. Please provide an English Europass template CV.
