Scientific Assistant - Nutrition & Food Innovation Unit

We are looking for a Scientific Assistant for the Nutrition and Food Innovation Unit (NIF).

Retribuzione annua: 28000€ - 34000€

The interim will:

• Support the assessment of GMO applications and generic mandates;
• Draft, edit and publish scientific outputs;
• Run queries and perform searches in databases;
• Prepare summary data tables;
• Provide support to the Food and Feed Working Group and Panel, including document management and drafting/publishing minutes, according to relevant procedures;
• Process dossier data and report scientific compliance in accordance with EFSA Guidance provisions;
• Apply specific knowledge in toxicology risk assessment (GMOs) and protein safety to technical tasks.

Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of English (at least C1 level);
• Previous experience in Toxicology Risk assessment and Protein Safety assessment;
• Previous experience in collecting and collating evidence, analyzing and interpreting data with statistics;
• Previous experience in the laboratory with safety testing or investigations of proteins is considered an asset;
• Previous experience in the GM Plants' field is considered an asset;
• Behavioural competencies: working with others, analysis and problem solving, drive for results, good level of autonomy.

Assignment: initial contract of 3/4 months, with possibility of extension. Expected duration of assignment 12 months.

Salary: approx. €2326 per month before taxes.

Work modalities: office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possiblewithin 2 hours from EFSA's premises in Parma, Italy, for the remaining days.
