Duties
Establish DoWEA educator performance elements and evaluate teacher work.
Serve as the responsible officer for all government-owned or leased property assigned to the school.
Use student achievement data and related data to make decisions regarding the school improvement plan, teacher professional development requirements, and programmatic changes.
Initiate communications between school administration, students, teachers, parents, the local community, and based offices that provide services to the school and/or staff.
Conditions of Employment
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
Two-year trial period may be required.
Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
Two-year supervisory trial period may be required.
This position requires a Tier 3 (T3) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.
You will be required to sign a mobility agreement, be available for worldwide placement, and be willing to rotate to any DoWEA location.
Must satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230, DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights.
Individuals hired from the Continental United States (CONUS) and their family members (who are U.S. Citizens) are required to obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas area.
Individuals assigned to Italy, England, or Korea are required to obtain a visa to enter these countries.

The Public (and other eligible categories)
Education :
Master's degree in educational administration/educational leadership.
Or a Master’s degree reflecting 30 semester hours of graduate level coursework, of which a minimum of 20 semester hours must be Educational Administration/Educational Leadership.
Applicants providing an unencumbered fully professional administrator license with a certification comparable to DoDEA Principal and issued from a State Board of Education of the United States or National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) will be considered to have fulfilled the semester hour requirement.
General Experience :
A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching, specialist, or other professional educator experience at the Pre-K -12 level.
Specialized Experience :
A minimum of two years of appropriate experience (elementary and/or secondary) in a staff or supervisory position that clearly demonstrates the ability to administer school educational programs and to effectively supervise educators and support personnel.
Not more than one year of experience in positions that did not involve actual school administration will be credited as specialized experience.

Foreign degrees and coursework from non-accredited institutions must be evaluated prior to acceptance.
Three acceptable evaluation procedures: (1) International Education Research Foundation, Inc.; (2) Foreign institution listed by a regionally accredited university or state department of education; (3) Graduate division of a regionally accredited university evaluating the work as equivalent to U.S. undergraduate or graduate work.
Graduates of non-accredited institutions may have their undergraduate work validated by admission to graduate school and completion of a minimum of 5 semester hours of credit in a regionally accredited graduate college.
